Things To Do in Warwick RI

Rocky Point State Park

Rocky Point State Park is both a historical site in Warwick and a great place to get back in touch with nature. The Rocky Point Amusement Park, which was open from the 1840s to 1995, once stood where the park is now. You can still see remnants of the amusement park scattered all throughout the property, although most have been cleared for the park.

Today, Rocky Point State Park is a great place for picnics, walks, hikes, and other outdoor activities. Or if you just want to meditate amidst nature, this park is a wonderful place to do just that, with an amazing view of the Narragansett Bay to boot.

Goddard Memorial State Park

If you want to take in more of the natural beauty of Warwick, Goddard Memorial State Park is one of the most beloved metropolitan parks in the city. This place has sprawling lawns, fields, wooded areas, picnic pavilions, equestrian trails, game fields, and plenty of water for swimming and boating. Even a 9-hole golf course!

Goddard Memorial Park is the ideal place for horseback riding, strolling, picnicking, running, hiking, fishing, swimming, catching an outdoor concert, or playing a round of gold or two.

Oakland Beach

Oakland Beach is Warwick’s premiere seaside neighborhood, known for its titular sandy beaches. If a beach day is what you crave, there’s nowhere better in Warwick to spend it than at Oakland Beach. You’ll find plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy, from swimming, kayaking, or just taking a stroll down the shoreline.

The sandy beaches and endless ocean are, of course, to be expected, but Oakland Beach is also within walking distance of restaurants and other attractions. It’s perfect for a day of family-friendly fun in the sun.

Conimicut Point

For splendid, unspoiled seaside scenery, Conimicut Point has a great mix of sights and experiences. Here, you’ll find a view of Conimicut Point Lighthouse and the Narragansett Bay, as well as Conimicut Point Beach, Conimicut Point Park, and Conimicut Village, a quaint and picturesque little village that hosts not just residential homes, but a number of restaurants and small, local businesses. Anywhere in Conimicut Point is always worth a visit. You’ll find a well-balanced mix of attractions in this small corner of Warwick.

Warwick Center for the Arts

The Warwick Center for the Arts is run by a non-profit organization in Apponaug and has original art exhibitions, as well as a full calendar of year-round events. The WCFA also hosts theatre shows, including Bring Your Own Improv, and various art camps and workshops for people of all ages. If you’re a visitor just looking to scope the local art scene, the WCFA honors and displays all art forms, whether visual, auditory, or both.

Morris Farm

Morris Farm is a family-owned 43-acre farm that’s been owned and run by the Morris family since its founding in 1915. It’s a proud source of fresh, locally-grown produce, including livestock like chickens, cows, and horses. The farm sells fresh eggs every morning, beef and milk from their cows, and a plethora of seasonal fruits and vegetables all year-round. They also offer pumpkin picking in the fall, horse rides, and trailer rides for special events, such as birthday parties. It’s a great place to take the kids and even the adults for the day.

Clouds Hill Victorian House Museum

Often touted as a hidden gem of Warwick, the Clouds Hill Victorian House Museum is a cultural and historical landmark that truly stands out even amongst the best of Warwick’s attractions. First built in 1872 as a gift from William Smith Slater to his daughter, Elizabeth Ives Slater, the Victorian-style house remained in the family’s possession and passed from the eldest female daughter to the next. In fact, the house is still being managed today by descendants of the Slaters!

Step right back in time and get lost in the gilded stylings, vintage furnishings, and Victorian-style architecture that makes up the entire 28-acre property. More than tours, the museum also holds annual events, such as their yearly “Whodunnit” evening.

You’re sure to find something exciting and well worth your time in Warwick — a handful of them, in fact! Immerse yourself in the local culture and feel just like a local at any of these best things to do in Warwick, RI.
