Meet The Team
Dan Cowens, CEO
Founder and CEO Dan Cowens has over 25 years of experience in hospitality management services, and is the architect of Oasis Marinas’ vision to provide high-quality marina management services in Annapolis and around the world. This vision was developed and fostered based on 20 + years of work with hotel companies ranging from Five Diamond hotels such as Four Seasons to the largest and most consistent brands like Marriott. He’s also a military veteran, having served eight years in the U.S. Army. Dan’s love for the water began when he worked for Annapolis Bay Charters in Annapolis, Maryland throughout high school and has continued to grow since.
Mark Gretz, CFO
CFO Mark Gretz has more than 30 years of experience working with startups and high growth companies in finance, accounting, operations, and acquisitions. Prior to joining Oasis Marinas, Mark was Managing Director and CFO at Evergreen Advisors, a mid-Atlantic based investment banking and corporate advisory firm providing outsourced CFO services. Mark has experience participating in venture funding from $2M - $37M. When Mark is not in the office, he spends time traveling to his daughters' college sports activities or spending time out on the water with his brother-in-laws.
Kirk Gautreau, COO
Kirk has over 25 years of business experience in the hospitality, petroleum and financial services industries. Most recently, Kirk led multiple departments of a national hospitality services company and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our Oasis Team. Kirk’s love of the water and boating started at an early age as he grew up fishing in the marshes at the mouth of the Mississippi River in Southeastern Louisiana. Today, he and his family are situated on the Chesapeake Bay where he’s passing on his love of the water to his children.
Benjamin Burns has been working in digital marketing for over 15 years. Throughout his career, Benjamin has built performance-based marketing teams at Marriott International with a primary focus towards increasing brand awareness and increasing online hotel reservations across associated brands and driving returned value for franchise owners. Benjamin held an executive leadership role at The Bozzuto Group, an experience-focused commercial real estate company ($15 billion portfolio value, over 76,000 residences) responsible for constructing customer acquisition frameworks, marketing analytics, and marketing operations, covering over 250 websites. Also, Benjamin was responsible for creating a bespoke digital marketing framework to grow three venture-backed marketplace start-ups, LivingSocial, ParkingPanda and CircleBack, two of which have been acquired.
VP Business Development
Brian has 23 years of sales, business development, customer service and operations experience. In this time, he has worked in telecommunications, real estate and hospitality management. Brian is also a USCG licensed master, lifelong boater and loves cruising, water sports and traveling. When Brian is not working, he is with family enjoying the Chesapeake and all it has to offer, training in one of the Triathlon Disciplines or on occasion, relaxing!
VP Marina Development
Jat is a second-generation General Contractor, holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Construction Management from East Carolina University and has over $1.5 billion in construction management experience. Jat has design and construction knowledge of both vertical and horizontal real estate development. Collectively, Jat has overseen the design and construction of over 150 marinas across North America. Jat prides himself on adding value to all projects by protecting the Owner’s investment and driving projects to completion while maintaining quality, budget, schedule and customer satisfaction. When Jat is not at work, he spends his time with his wife and three children.
Eric Bradley has been working in the marina business his entire career. In that time he has managed, designed, and overseen construction of a variety of facilities on the Chesapeake Bay. This diversity of experience is one of the reasons he was elected the President of the Marine Trades Association of Maryland, where he is currently serving a two year term. When not on the docks, Eric is out on the water, at the ballpark, or spending time with his family.
